These men were on the field with Generals Lee, Hancock, Pickett and Longstreet.. They remember when Lincoln was President.

Those are true Heros. We can never forget them. It would have been such an honor to shake their hands. I remember visiting Gettysburg and standing where the soldiers stood and seeing the view that they saw. Its a great experience. Il never forget it as long as I live.

Just imagine all the stories those veterans could tell about there experiences in the war. And they are still sporting the same style beards that they did those many many years agos.

Indeed. History can often seem like a dream or a story when we read about it. Seeing the faces of the blue and the grey, men who actually stood toe to toe at the Battle of Gettysburg brings history to life. It's an amazing piece of film.

David Andrew Harkless, as a teen, fought in the Civil War. Below are newspaper clippings as he was a veteran and one of few remaining for the Gettsyburg 75th anniversary & other celebrations.
